Rancho Bernardo Kitchen and Family Room Remodel

Remodeling Goals/Challenges:

The family was living in a very dated home in which existing areas were out of proportion to their interior needs. The formal dining room was too large and they wanted space for their children to study, while maintaining an open floor plan. They expressed the desire to have an updated kitchen and two new fireplace facades that related to the rest of their home, without getting into an extensive remodel that would require re-location of existing structures.

Design Solutions:

Working within the existing structure, the final design was both updated and appealing. A modern and open kitchen was created which was open to the family room. New arches adorn entryways for additional architectural interest. New fireplace facades were incorporated without removing existing rock walls and fireplace boxes reducing demolition costs and hassles, and a new study room was added for their children which was both open and visible to the parents, yet private enough for quiet study time.

Their design services were awesome-to the point that we flushed a two thousand dollar investment in existing plans from another designer. Our construction schedule was detailed and adhered to perfectly, beginning when stated and ending when stated. Every DDB employee and subcontractor was clean and professional. Our remodeling experience with Dream Design Builders was exceptional."
